Privacy Policy

This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect when you use the Kişi Başı website and mobile app (the "Service"), how we use it and with whom we share it. By using the Service you agree to this policy.

Data We Collect

Account information

Information you give us when you create an account and use the Service:

  • Email address
  • First and last name
  • Name and email shared by Google or Apple when you sign in with them (your password is never sent to us)

App content

The groups you create, the expenses you enter (amount, date, description, category, participants), the payments you record and the names of people you add to a group. This data is shared only with members of the same group.

Device and technical data

Data collected automatically to run and secure the Service:

  • Your device's push notification token, operating system, app version and language, so we can send notifications
  • IP address, request time and requested address in server logs (kept for a limited time for security, troubleshooting and abuse prevention)
  • Your device's advertising identifier, used to show ads in the mobile app (see Advertising below)

How We Use Your Data

We use your data only to:

  • Create your account, verify your identity and provide the Service
  • Calculate group expenses, balances and settlements and share them with group members
  • Send push notifications about expenses, payments and join requests that concern you
  • Send verification and password-reset emails
  • Keep the Service secure and prevent abuse and fraud
  • Show ads in the mobile app

Push Notifications

With your permission, the mobile app sends push notifications through Google Firebase Cloud Messaging. Notifications are sent only for events that directly concern you. You can turn them off at any time in your device settings; when you sign out, your device token is deleted from our servers.

Advertising

The mobile app may show ads through Google AdMob. AdMob processes your device's advertising identifier and limited device information to serve ads, measure ad performance and detect invalid traffic. This data is shared with Google; we do not store your advertising identifier.

If you do not want personalised ads you can opt out in your device settings: on Android choose "Opt out of Ads Personalisation" or "Delete advertising ID", on iOS decline the app's tracking permission prompt or use Settings → Privacy → Tracking. How Google uses this data is described in the Google Privacy Policy.

Third Parties

We work with the following providers to deliver the Service; each one receives only the data needed for its task:

  • Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (push notifications): device notification token
  • Google AdMob (ads, mobile app only): advertising identifier and device information
  • Sign in with Google and Sign in with Apple (optional authentication): name and email

We never sell or give your personal data or expense records to third parties for advertising. Your data is stored on our own servers in Türkiye.

Retention and Security

All data is transferred over encrypted connections (HTTPS) and passwords are stored as irreversible hashes. Account data is kept for as long as your account is open. Server logs and email delivery records are kept for a limited time for security purposes and then deleted.

Delete Your Account

You can delete your account and the personal data we hold about you at any time.

In the mobile app use Profile → Delete Account; on the website use Delete Account on the Profile page.

Deletion closes your account, removes your personal information and device tokens and ends your membership in all groups. Group expense records may remain, stripped of your personal information, so that other members' balances stay correct.

Where we have a legal obligation, we may need to retain certain information for the required period.

Children

The Service is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The current version is always published on this page and the "Last updated" date is changed.
